Shahi Darbar is a beachside Indian restaurant in the Algarvian fishing town Armacao de Pera. Conveniently located and conveniently delicious ;), we found the curries to be flavorful and the staff super kind.

To enjoy a curry dish with a bread or rice, a beverage, and a dessert you're looking at right around the 20 euro mark per head, on average.

I have a deeply held belief that after an appointment it's a great idea to treat yo' self!

You've probably been a bit stressed, nervous, or even excited for said appointment. You may have done a lot of prep work before hand and said more than a few extra prayers.

The day comes. You show up, parking in this adorable town is a nightmare, but you make it just in time! Phew. Now the appointment is over and you can breathe again.... Double Phew...

Have you been there too? You also deserve a treat ;)

For us, doing so is the equivalent of getting a margherita pizza at a new pizza place or chicken tikka masala at an indian restauraurant.

Cinnaroma Loule Review

Cinnaroma is a very cute little bakery in Loule with a few tables inside and a couple outside as well. They are offering premium cinnamon rolls and New York style bakery cookies in Portugal.

Portugal has it's share of tasty treats (yes, we all love the pastel de nata, among others) but to find a really good cookie or a cinnamon roll like this is actually quite difficult.

Cinnaroma's cinnamon rolls are really quite good. While I enjoyed the pistachio cinnamon roll, for me the original was the clear winner. If you can have these cinnamon rolls a little warm it will be a happy day for you!

At around 5 USD per cinnamon roll, these are a special occasion item. They are a good size and if I could do this outing again I would have split one in person and taken the other home to enjoy later as I felt a whole one was just a tad much for me.

A warm cinnamon roll is a comfort food.

And if you are in need of that kind of comfort while in the vicinity of Loule, stop in and try Algarve's favorite cinnamon rolls. :)

This establishment offers vegan food.

Sams Bar & Kitchen Review - ArmaÇÃo de PÊra Restaurants

If you find yourself in Armacao de Pera and with an appetite, consider stopping in to Sam's Bar & Kitchen.

I know, I know, any restaurant right on the boardwalk with ocean views is likely to be more about location than food right?

That's what I thought too, but tell me what you think after you see the pictures ;)

Apple Walnut Salad w/ Balsamic - €9.90

A perfect blend of sweet and savory with fresh apple slices, crunchy walnuts, crumbled feta, and mixed greens all drizzled with a rich balsamic vinaigrette.

If you're super observant you may notice that there were pecans instead of walnuts. But honestly, that was a score in my book!

This apple pecan salad with feta was fresh and delicious and I swear there was an intriguing touch of cumin!

When you want a light lunch or snack with a view of the beach in Armação de Pêra, this salad may be for you.

Thai Red Curry with Vegetables and Tofu - €10.90

A delightful blend of fresh vegetables, tender tofu, and rich coconut milk all brought together with a fragrant Thai red curry paste.

I have to admit, I was really impressed with this Thai red curry. The flavors really packed a punch and I enjoyed it far more than I expected!

To my delight, the Tofu Thai Red Curry came with white rice and a fresh salad on the side!

The mango passionfruit milkshake was adorned with a pirouline/pirouette cookie (you know those little wafer cookies that look like tubes) and an environmentally friendly paper straw.

Sam's Bar and Kitchen Review

Sam's Bar and Kitchen has more to offer than a great view of the beach at Armacao de Pera in the Algarve. The food we had was actually really tasty - very flavorful, very fresh, and felt health-conscious yet fun!

As you can see, they pride themselves on presentation and nothing is better than eating something delicious that also looks like a work of art!

Sam's Bar and Kitchen also offers happy hour cocktail specials and live music at times.

By the way, if you're looking for a vegetarian or vegan restaurant in the Algarve, Sam's Bar and Kitchen is a restaurant in Armação de Pêra which will suit your preferences!
